Here at Durham Masonic Hall we welcome people with disabilities and have developed the Access Statement to address some of the more common issues that disabled people face.
This access statement is intended to provide additional information for all guests who wish to attend the Hall or use its facilities. Recognition has been given to include guests with an impairment, which could include mobility, sight, hearing, learning disabilities or any other hidden impairment.
We request that anyone wishing to make an enquiry or booking inform us of any special needs or disabilities that they may have in order for us to try and meet any personal requirements. All staff are fully trained to assist disabled guests with empathy.
Durham Masonic Hall has ground level car parking, with direct access into the Building via a ramp to the side of the building. In addition, there is disabled parking space situated in front of the building. All ground floor areas, including Main Hall and Bar are accessible to wheelchair users. The ground floor toilet has sufficient space for wheel-chair users.
The upper floor and Ceremonial Room are accessible by a lift for wheel-chair users with ample space in the room. All door way and openings are wheelchair friendly.
